GRANT RECIPIENTS: MARCIN STAWARZ
Past Recipients Student Testimonials

Marcin Stawarz was born in Zywiec, Poland, and moved to America at an early age when his parents emigrated from Poland. He earned his B.A. in mathematics from Reed College in Portland, Oregon, with a thesis on the loss of statistical information. While at Reed he caught a film bug from student run organizations -- Cool Video Board, Bad Video Board, and Dr. Who Video Board (which he helped found)--that showed films ranging from classical Hollywood to American Independent to Dr. Who episodes. After graduating from Reed College Marcin moved to New York City where he worked in finance during the day and further pursued his filmmaking ambitions at nights and on weekends. This experience led Marcin to pursue an MFA in Directing at Columbia University's Graduate School of the Arts. He is currently in post-production on his thesis film "Today and Tomorrow."

Marcin would like to wholeheartedly acknowledge the support from the Caucus Foundation for Television Producers, Writers, and Directors. He is grateful for and further encouraged by the Caucus Foundation Grant, it will enable him to complete his thesis film "Today and Tomorrow."
