GRANT RECIPIENTS: JARRETT LEE CONAWAY
Past Recipients Student Testimonials

In 2007, Jarrett Lee Conaway directed Anthem, a sci-fi fable about two explorers who discover a time-capsule buried by the refugees of a nuclear war. The short film propelled Jarrett to nation-wide exposure when he was chosen by Steven Spielberg, from a pool of 12,000 filmmakers, to participate in the FOX reality competition "On the Lot".

During his third year at USC, Jarrett was trained by Academy Award winning director Robert Zemeckis (Beowulf, Forrest Gump) in state of the art performance capture directing techniques which he plans to incorporate in his filmmaking.

Jarrett is currently in post-production on his thesis short film, "TURBO", starring Justin Chon (Twilight, Crossing Over), Jocko Sims (Crash "the series", Dreamgirls) and internet superstar David Lehre (Myspace: the Movie, Epic Movie). Shot on the Red ONE Camera, the film tells the story of teenagers who compete in a photo-realistic fighting videogame for a chance at fame and corporate sponsorship. Jarrett wrote the feature script with Wonder Woman screenwriter, Brent Strickland.

This year, Jarrett was selected from 600+ directors as a finalist for the Disney ABC TV Director's Fellowship. He is also a recipient of the 2008-2009 Film Independent Project: Involve fellowship.
